You interact with the Main Chart in the middle of the screen using these gestures:

You interact with the Hex Information Area at the bottom of the screen using these gestures:

In the first tutorial scenario, you comand both surface and subsurface assets with the goal of attacking enemy ships and preventing their traverse of an important strait in the middle of the chart.

Begin by getting familiar with the composition of your forces. As you tap on various locations on the map, the forces at that location will be displayed in the Hex Info Area at the bottom of the screen. For example, here you see a destroyer which is the flagship of one of your Surface Action Groups (SAG). If you press your finger in the Hex Info Area and hold it down (long press), then you will see additional information about those forces.

You begin each turn by issuing commands to your forces. In the case of ships, you first tap on their location to establish the Hot Spot hex. You next long press on that location until you see a large circle appear. Once that happens, drag your finger along the path of hexes that you want the ships to traverse. When you reach the final hex, release your finger.

At this point, you will be prompted with the Sea Mission Dialog.

The Sea Mission Dialog displays the options available to you for the movement. Typically you set a speed for the movement so you arrive quickly at your final destination. You also would set an Operation such as Anti-Ship which reflects the objective of the movement. Other options are described in the User Manual.

Your movement is then displayed on the chart together with the time it will take to complete the movement.

When you are ready, use the Advance menu option to advance the game to the next turn. When there are no more turns in the scenario, you will be shown the victory determination to see if you won or lost.

This Getting Started document has covered the basics of naval game play. Later tutorials will give you command of air assets as well. For these, you first select a target hex and then invoke the Air Operation option of the main menu. To learn more, refer to the User Manual which is shown in the Help menu. More information is available from the Fleet Battle School web page which is accessible from the Help Menu
